Email Tracker is a Chrome extension and dashboard that tells you when the emails you send from Gmail are opened and when links inside them are clicked. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you stay in control of it. In plain terms: we help you track your own outgoing email, and we never read the contents of your messages.

What we collect

What we do NOT collect

How the extension uses Gmail

The extension runs inside Gmail (mail.google.com) to do two things: display the ✓ / ✓✓ read-receipt ticks in your Sent list, and, for emails you send with tracking on, add a tracking pixel and rewrite links so opens and clicks can be measured. You can turn tracking off for any individual email before you send it. We use Google sign-in only for the non-sensitive openid, email, and profile scopes. We do not request access to the Gmail API or your message content.

How we use your information

We use the data above solely to provide the service: to show you when your emails are opened and clicked, to power your analytics dashboard, and to send you desktop notifications about your own tracked emails. We do not use it for any other purpose.

Where your data is stored

Data is stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database and served through Vercel. We rely on these providers, plus Google for authentication, to operate the service. Each of them processes data only as needed to run Email Tracker.

Your control and data deletion

You are in control of your data at all times. You can delete all of your tracking data at any moment using the "Delete my data" option in the dashboard or the extension. This permanently removes your tracked emails, opens, and clicks from our database. If you would like your account itself removed, contact us and we will erase it.

Cookies

The dashboard uses a single sign-in session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Children

Email Tracker is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
